It is described as a European‑style transparent watercolour.  Creamy, with good brush control; smooth, consistent texture. It dries smoothly in palette wells without cracking, crumbling or chipping, and is rewettable. Holbein’s Luminous line omits ox‑gall, animal by‑products, and extra dispersing agents. This gives artists more control over flow and pigment behaviour.
