A deep, muted violet — richer and darker than a pure bright violet, with a somber or twilight quality due to the black pigment.
This color should show granulating behavior (i.e., pigment particles separate slightly during drying to create texture).
It should have decent lightfastness, though in diluted tints it may be somewhat more vulnerable.
In lighter washes, softer violets, subtle tonal shifts, and the granulation effect more visible.
In heavier / masstone application, you’ll get darker, more saturated violet with muted shadows.
Twilight skies, moody or atmospheric backgrounds, shadowed floral work, layering / glazing to add depth, or as a cooler mid-tone in violet ranges.
