The colors will not bleed or crack and offer absolute opacity when laid one over the other.

The mat surface will be fragile, however, and scratching or rubbing should be avoided.

A fixative or mat varnish will enhance surface strength but not without loss of opacity which may change surface color by increasing transparency.

This may alter reproduction qualities of art work to be photographed. If mediums are applied, care should be taken to insure a very thin coating only.

Capable of being mixed comparably with Holbein transparent watercolors, acrylic colors, or acrylic ink diluted for airbrush use, Holbein Gouache is a truly professional color product which will meet the requirements of the most demanding artist while, at the same time, offering those characteristics which make it an outstanding medium for the teaching of color theory.
